Rebuilding the Rockola Accumulator 31251-A

I opened up the credit unit for a major cleaning, measured all coils, cleaned the switches, but it was impossible to get the cogwheel to work when the solienoid kicks in for counting down the credits, until I realized I missed the tiny tounge and spring that mounts on the solenoid tab.
Suddenly I remember that the seller gave me a part just before I left him and said "you will need this when rebuilding......"
I remember the words he said and looked in my boxes with one million parts parts, YES!!!
I found the tounge/spring  in a small plastic bag!

I have also ordered new electrolyt capacitors and will swap out the 60 years old capacitor can.

Jensen woofer is making scratchy noice

I thought the Jensen woofer was good, but after mounting the two 12" speakers the woofer starts scratch when I raise the volume. Guess the voice coil rubbs against the magnet structure. So my option is to rebuild the woofer or found a new one......I found a new one today, just 2 km from my home :-)
It is a 12" Bozak B-199Bc, this is a vintage high quality speaker, (from US I guess?)
Weight is around 5kg, it have a large Alnico? magnet , and the cage is aluminium casting.

Rebuilding tweeter horn

The tweeter horn is broken, no resistance at all when measuring :-(
I opened it up but it seems like the coil winding is cut off.
So I took one of my piezo electric tweeters (Motorola CTS)  and modified it (cut away the hopper) and glued it on the horn casting. A really quick and dirty work, but I think it will work quite well in the end!
The sound is a little bit harsh/bright so a capacitor in series with the piezo will reduce the level a bit.

Mounting the grille and frames

This weekend I fixed the coindoor frame, mounted the grille and the grille frames.

It was a real pita to get the grille frame (nice polished stainless steel) in place without any big gaps in the corner.
I bought the grille frame from Holland (Henk Jansen) and I got three large frame parts and six small plates to be glued to the larger frames, this took me six hours to fix.
I had to modify everything to get the frames right. But finely I was able to get it all in place :-)

Mounting 3M Di-Noc Architectural Finishes (Vinyl foil)

I decided to buy vinyl foil from 3M for the sides, as I couldnt found any real veneer I liked in the shops nearby.
I found this vinyl in Germany  on a webpage at Foliencenter24.
It's a piece of a cake to mount the foil and took no more then a few minutes to apply the foil.
Warm it with a heatgun and bend it round the coners....and you are finised!

I'm certenly impressed how good it looks and how easy it was to mount.

 First side is finished!
If you dont know it, you would take this for real wood.

It looks exactly as real veneer!
Even the grain is there!

Got the BADGE !!!!

Finely after three years searching everywhere for the grille Badge, I saw on facebook marketplace that  Michael  R in US parted out an RO 1...
